Choose the most ripe and sweetest apples you can find to make homemade apple juice with. If you are going to use bruised apples, cut out the bad parts. Rome, Gala, Red Delicious, and Fuji apples are the best to use due to their sweet juice.
The healthiest color for your body is green, so add things like spinach, parsley, broccoli, and chard in order to provide your body healthy nutrients. The idea here is to use leafy greens not for their flavor, but for their health benefits. So use at least 50% leafy greens and then supplement other items for flavor. Juices made entirely of fruits would tend to be too sugary and might cause a blood sugar spike.
Be sure to clean equipment you have used as soon as you are done juicing. Also, certain fruits and vegetables leave behind juice that can cause stains on equipment and its parts.
Many people want to stockpile juice in the refrigerator, but be sure you guard against pigment changes. No matter how good it is for you or how delicious, nobody likes drinking off-colored juice. You can prevent this from occurring simply by squeezing about two teaspoons of juice from a fresh lemon into your juice blend. The small amount of added lemon juice will allow the juices you make to keep their vibrant colors.
When you are choosing a juicer, make sure you buy one that is easy to clean. If you have to spend a lot of time assembling your juicer and cleaning it, you will avoid using it. Juicers need to be easy to clean, but it certainly helps if you clean your juicer immediately after juicing.
The amount of carcinogens in your body will actually decrease from the phytochemicals in vegetable and fruit juice. Try to use many foods rich in phytochemicals in the juices you make.
After you have made your juice, drink it immediately. The juice has the most nutrients right after it is made. The longer you take to consume it, the less amount of nutrients you get. You should drink any juice you make as soon as it is done.
Cranberries are best combined with vegetables and fruits that have more sweetness because of their slightly bitter taste. Blending cranberries with cherries, blueberries and strawberries is one of my favorites! Create your own mix for your own tastes.
Cucumber juice is great for hair and skin health. Cucumbers have a high silica content. Silica is also beneficial to your bones, ligaments, overall strength and muscle tone.
Add more ingredients with negative calories to make a nutritious juice that also helps you burn fat. These foods include dark greens, such as herbs, cabbage, and broccoli. Fruits high in fiber are great since it takes a while for digestion to break them down.
Don’t make your juice too far ahead of when you plan to use it. Place your juice in the fridge for a few minutes if you need to cool it down, but don’t store it for too long.
Getting the entire family involved can make juicing fun. Children can do things like wash the vegetables while the adults take care of any chopping and cutting.
In terms of juicing, remember that different juices may change the appearance of the teeth. Many juices contain ingredients that can leave your teeth stained or can even increase tooth decay. This can happen with juices from things like beets and carrots. Gently brush your teeth after drinking these juices if your teeth tend to stain easily.
All fruits are very different; remember this when juicing. If you want to make juice out of citrus fruits, such as tangerines, lemons and oranges, you may need a specialized machine. You also need to be careful juicing melons because the juice doesn’t taste very good when combined with other fruit juices.
